Official Baku Reports 2,908 Casualties in War, However Unofficial Sources Circulate Different Figures

Official Baku is concealing the true number of its casualties from the 44-day war from its own society. According to Pashtinfo, Azerbaijan's Deputy Attorney General, Military Prosecutor, and Justice Lieutenant General Khanlar Veliev reported 2,908 dead, whose bodies have been handed over to family members, while 6 servicemen are considered missing and are reportedly still being searched for. He noted that members of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved in the search operations.

Meanwhile, the same unofficial Azerbaijani sources report casualty figures ranging from 9,000 to 12,000. Furthermore, there were even claims in Telegram circles about 25,000 casualties.

Unofficial Azerbaijani sources also indicate that Syrian mercenaries, supported by Turkey, were sent to Artsakh to participate in the combat solely for the purpose of receiving a salary.
