Joint Military Exercises of China, Russia, and Iran Announced Amidst Russia-West Tensions: Abrahamyan

Joint military exercises of China, Russia, and Iran have been announced amidst the new confrontation between Russia and the West. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly representing the 'I Have Honor' faction, on his Facebook page.

“Earlier, Russia and China prepared a new roadmap aimed at deepening military cooperation, outlining further progress and the details of upcoming steps in the military sector between the two countries. The development plan is intended to be implemented by 2025.

Within the framework of the Iranian President's visit to Russia, a $5 billion loan for Iran was announced. It is officially indicated that a significant portion of this amount will be allocated for the supply of Russian Su-35 aircraft. It is also assumed that the remaining portion of the loan will be spent by Iran on new military acquisitions.

Iran and Russia have a direct influence, while China has an indirect influence on the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus, primarily playing a restraining role against Turkey's growing ambitions. Moreover, Turkey's appetite has long exceeded the South Caucasus, and Iran, Russia, and China share common interests in curbing Turkey's aggressive policies in various regions.

It is clear that the deepening and tangible cooperation among the trio is directly linked to the West's intensifying policy, and the aggressive struggle for influence in different regions continues. This entails new alliances, re-evaluations of relationships, political edits, and, of course, new tensions across the globe.

There is no point in suggesting what important cooperation fronts exist for Armenia to counter the new adventures or possible aggression of Turkey and Azerbaijan by working with the Russia-Iran-China trio, as the Armenian authorities’ anti-crisis strategy is to warm relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan, which, along this path, will only lead our country to new crises and tragedies,” wrote Abrahamyan.
