Erdogan's Regime Goals and 'Heroes' Unfortunately Remain Unchanged: Vardan Voskanyan
Iranian expert Vardan Voskanyan writes: “Just a year ago, during the infamous and humiliating military parade in Baku, the leader of Erdogan's regime spoke with enthusiasm about the 'enlightened soul' of Enver, one of the executioners of the Armenian people. Today, the same regime's foreign minister claims that 'Turkey's goal is the normalization of relations with Armenia,' pointing to Yerevan-Istanbul flights as an achievement.
In this context, it is critically important to understand whether Erdogan's regime has renounced the glorification of this criminal and other genocide perpetrators, or whether it sees the normalization of relations with Armenia as a continuation of Enver's 'illuminated cause,' albeit now utilizing soft power mechanisms. I believe it is not necessary to be a great visionary to understand that the goals of Erdogan's regime and its 'heroes' have, unfortunately, not changed; only the toolkit to achieve those goals has evolved or, more precisely, enriched.”
