Did the MPs from the Civil Contract Party Hold a Drinking Party in Parliament?
The newspaper "Joghurnal" reports that some MPs from the National Assembly's Civil Contract faction organized a party in Parliament yesterday. According to information obtained by the newspaper, the ruling party MPs celebrated the birthday of former Vayots Dzor Governor and current MP Tigran Sargsyan. Although his birthday is on January 19, it coincided with the government’s question-and-answer session with National Assembly members, as well as the visit of their political leader, Nikol Pashinyan, to Parliament. Therefore, they held Tigran Sargsyan's birthday celebration yesterday.
Despite our reporter seeing several MPs at the party (the last being Hripsime Grigoryan), the guest of honor Sargsyan quickly denied the information in a conversation with us. “No, I did not celebrate; your information is wrong,” he said.
However, the reality does not change due to this denial, and their laughter could be heard from afar. Some drunk MPs were also noted, struggling to enter the session hall. We are not publishing their names yet, hoping they will amend their behavior.
It is worth adding that the National Assembly staff circulated a notice yesterday urging employees entering the Assembly not to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances inside the administrative building; otherwise, the “suspects” would be subjected to checks for alcohol or drug influence, possibly even forcibly.
