Blizzard on Goris-Sisian Road, Reports Emergency Situations Ministry

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The road from Amberd Fortress to K'ari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province is closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult for trailer trucks, even with the use of snow chains.

The roads in the Syunik Province, as well as the Kuchak-Zaghkasheny and Yeghnajur-Zarishat roads in Shirak Province, are difficult to navigate, while the Spitak turns in Lori Province are impassable for trucks.

There is black ice present in some areas of the roads in Gegharkunik Province, in the Aparan and Aragatz regions of Aragatsotn Province, and in the Tigranashen turns in Ararat Province. A blizzard is reported on the Goris-Sisian stretch in Syunik Province.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the North Ossetia Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
