VIDEO: European Journalists Walk Out of Macron's Press Conference in Protest
European journalists have left the hall where French President Emmanuel Macron was scheduled to hold a press conference at the European Parliament. According to Известия, the journalists expressed their protest against the impossibility of asking questions.
On Wednesday, Macron delivered a speech at the European Parliament outlining France's priorities during its presidency of the EU for the next six months. Following his address, a press conference was supposed to take place; however, it later became clear that there would be no opportunity for the French leader to take questions from the media.
In protest, European journalists exited the hall before the conference began. Macron commented on the situation, noting that he had already answered journalists' questions regarding France's presidency of the EU back in December.
