Details Emerge About Robbery Incident at Grand Candy Factory
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has revealed several details regarding the robbery that took place at the Grand Candy factory, following investigative measures and procedural actions initiated under Article 175, Part 3, Subpoint 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
According to the statement from the Investigative Committee, joint urgent measures conducted with the RA Police have led to the identification of the individuals involved in the crime. Earlier reports indicated that on December 22, 2021, between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM, individuals committing the apparent crime used a makeshift ladder and technical means to ascend the factory's perimeter located on Masis Street in Yerevan. They illegally entered the factory premises by cutting through barbed wire, entered the subsidiary building, and threatened an employee with violence using a metal baton.
During this robbery, they stole a significant amount of cash, amounting to 15,000,000 AMD, and fled the scene. As a result of the actions taken, two residents of Yerevan, aged 30 and 34, were apprehended by the police. They have been presented to the prosecuting authority and arrested on suspicion of robbery.
The investigation is ongoing.
