Baku Awaits Yerevan's Response: Aliyev's Assistant

Baku, despite its own calls for peace, continues to present demands to Armenia and propose preconditions for establishing peace in the region. Today, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan made further assertive statements.

Hikmet Hajiyev stated that Baku is waiting for Yerevan’s response regarding the peace agreement. “Armenia must accurately assess the new geopolitical realities in the region and draw appropriate conclusions,” Hajiyev told reporters, highlighting his role as the head of the department for foreign policy affairs in the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration.

Hajiyev recalled Ilham Aliyev’s recent interview, in which he discussed the normalization of relations with Armenia. “Aliyev addressed the issues that could serve as a basis for the resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and indicated the beginning of negotiations on signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Naturally, we expect a corresponding response from Armenia,” declared Aliyev’s assistant.
