Azerbaijan Still Has Not Returned 400 Sheep of Syunik Shepherd
The Azerbaijani side has not yet returned the sheep of shepherd Surik Matevosyan, who was captured on January 13 and returned the same day. This was reported to 24News by three sources.
“Discussions are still ongoing with the mediation of the Russian side,” said one source.
It is recalled that on January 13, local resident Surik Matevosyan, born in 1969, was grazing his sheep in a pasture located at the junction of the villages of Tegh, Aravus, and Khndzoresk in the Tegh community. Around 15:30, four armed Azerbaijani servicemen descended from their positions, approximately 150 meters away, and, while shouting at him, forcibly dragged him towards their side, in the direction of Tsitsernavank, taking with them 400-450 sheep. The shepherd was returned the same day through the mediation of the Russian side, but the Azerbaijani side has still not returned the sheep.
