What Are the Symptoms of the Omicron Variant: Ministry of Health Explains
The Ministry of Health of Armenia has presented the symptoms of the Omicron variant. According to research findings, the Omicron variant tends to cause milder symptoms than other variants of the coronavirus disease. It primarily affects the upper respiratory tract, including the nose and throat, and less frequently causes lung involvement.
The main symptoms include sore throat, nasal discharge, dry cough, and lower back pain.
Considering that the Republic of Armenia is currently in the flu and acute respiratory infections season, with a high level of morbidity being recorded, and that the symptoms characteristic of the Omicron variant are similar to those of acute respiratory infections, we urge individuals to seek medical attention at a primary health care facility or clinic if they experience any of these symptoms, in order to detect the disease in its early stage and avoid complications.
Specialists note that the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine works quite effectively against Omicron. Therefore, the Ministry of Health calls on individuals to get vaccinated one day in advance to prevent complications from the disease.
