Video: Minister Says Resignation Statement Was a Joke

The Minister of Economy, Vahan Karapetian, stated that his announcement regarding resigning if double-digit economic growth is not achieved was a joke.

“The statement I made was said in jest… of course, you can laugh,” the Minister told the opposition, responding to comments from opposition lawmaker Aregnaz Manukyan, who inquired about the supposed resignation.

Karapetian challenged Manukyan, asking whether such prideful individuals are truly knocking on the doors of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, which have also made predictions and missed the mark far more than he has.
