VIDEO: Ghazinyan Comments on Papikyan's Wedding: "Can You Ensure Everyone Shows Up with a QR Code?"
During a recent parliamentary session, the topic of restrictions coming into effect on January 22 was discussed. According to these restrictions, entering public catering establishments and cultural centers without a vaccination certificate in the form of a QR code or a negative test result will not be possible.
Arthur Ghazinyan, a member of the "Hayastan" faction, asked Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan if an impact assessment had been conducted regarding how such changes would affect the economy. The deputy minister responded that the regulation was approved at the right time and is not premature; it will promote not only an increase in vaccination rates but also a safer environment.
Ghazinyan argued that transportation congestion poses a greater risk than cafes, questioning why a QR code is required to visit a cafe but not to use public transportation. He stated, "The presence of vaccination significantly reduces the likelihood of infection. As for public transport, regulations are implemented gradually. Mainly, those who use public transport are going to work or visiting public catering places. If we impose regulations in those places, then the safety issue of transportation and the mandatory mask-wearing requirement mitigate the risk of infection," said Nanushyan.
Ghazinyan reminded that in a few days, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan's wedding will take place. "A large event is expected soon at the 'Paravon' restaurant, where you can ensure that everyone attends with a vaccination certificate or a negative test result. Can you do this? I ask you to do this and show the public that this regulation applies to everyone, not just the vulnerable," Ghazinyan said.
