Levon Yolyan Resigns: Who Will Replace Him?
The President of the RA Audit Chamber, Levon Yolyan, has resigned. Yolyan personally confirmed this information in an interview with ArmLur.am.
“I have been in the field for 14 years, 5 of which I have served as the president of the chamber, and there was less than a year left in my tenure. I have family, personal, and other projects that are currently more important and a priority,” he said in a conversation with us.
When we remarked, “You’re retiring,” Yolyan replied, “I wouldn’t call it going on rest; pursuing and implementing other projects is not a retirement.”
According to the information, he will be replaced by chamber member Yeghishe Soghomonyan. In an interview with the media, he stated that he had not yet received an offer from the government to lead the chamber. “I cannot say now whether I would accept it or not if such an offer were made. If they offer, I will think about it,” Soghomonyan noted.
Yeghishe Soghomonyan, who was elected a member of the Supervisory Board months ago, was a deputy in the previous 7th convocation of the National Assembly. He had received his deputy quota from the “Mission” party. Soghomonyan currently has no party affiliation, having terminated his membership with “Mission.”
