Iran to Halt Natural Gas Supplies to Turkey

Iran will cease natural gas supplies to Turkey by the end of January this year. This was announced on January 19 by the Turkish Botas gas transportation operator, according to regnum.ru.

It was noted that the suspension of gas supplies will occur due to technical reasons. The National Iranian Gas Company has notified the Turkish side that, due to force majeure technical circumstances, gas supply will not be possible for 10 days starting from January 20.

At the same time, Botas noted that gas supplies from Iran were already reduced to 30 percent of the daily contractual volume as of January 17.
