BMW Found with Fake and Stolen License Plates as Part of ‘Let’s Remove the Numbers, Let’s Go Down to the Valley’ Operation

The investigative department of the Ijevan police is preparing materials regarding the discovered license plates as a result of an operation conducted in the Tavush region.

On that day, traffic police were performing their duties when they noticed a suspicious BMW vehicle. The traffic officers stopped the vehicle for inspection and discovered several license plates in the trunk.

It turned out that the driver, 30-year-old L. Hovhannisyan from Gegharkunik province, had a license plate 18 GG 777 on the BMW, while the car was legally registered under another plate.

The vehicle was moved to a special storage area of the Ijevan police department, and 10 ST 101 license plates were found in a visible area of the trunk.

According to the media report, it was established that L. Hovhannisyan had stolen the indicated license plates on August 30, 2021, from the vicinity of 106 Charentsi Street in Yerevan, when the car owner, 39-year-old S. Gevorgyan from Yerevan, had parked the vehicle and later noticed that the plates had been stolen. He then reported the incident to the central police department.

L. Hovhannisyan was released.
