"A Great Game is Underway, and One Shouldn't Have High Hopes for Armenian-Turkish Relations": Ruben Melkonyan
Russia, of course, publicly welcomes the process of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations, but it will also not allow Armenia to cross red lines in its relations with Turkey. This was stated by Ruben Melkonyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University, during a broadcast on 24TV.
“A great game is underway at this moment, and one shouldn't have high hopes for Armenian-Turkish relations because, in global matters, this is not our game. Moscow will not allow an increase in threats to its interests, and the fact that Turkey poses a threat to Russia is unequivocal, both as an independent player and as a representative of the West,” the Turkologist said.
