Will Kerobyan Leave His Ministerial Position? 'Iravunk'
'Iravunk' newspaper reports that according to rumors circulating in the government corridors, Vahan Kerobyan, the Minister of Economy of Armenia, is expected to leave his position soon. It appears that the so-called 'Kerobyans' have ceased to be amusing to Prime Minister Pashinyan, who is just looking for the right moment and a suitable replacement.
Specifically, Pashinyan has expressed discontent regarding the fact that the performance indicators underlying Kerobyan's grand statements are zero. Notably, Kerobyan has been regularly reminded of his promise to resign if there was no double-digit growth in 2021. At the end of the year, he admitted that such a statement was made under the influence of the moment, as it was essential to inspire optimism among people, especially business owners, following the crisis from the war and the pandemic.
According to him, introducing shock optimism could have been effective. However, as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan would say, in reality, Vahan Kerobyan also 'sucked out' the public's optimism. This very fact may ensure Kerobyan's 'heroic' removal from the government, as one can see that he did not fulfill his promise and thus, we will not have Minister Kerobyan either.
