Video: Soldiers Missing from the Border, Authorities Detaining Soldiers, Says MP

“We have reached a point where soldiers are going missing from the border, being taken captive under mysterious and strange circumstances, while those responsible speak innocently about our country’s progress and future,” stated Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the 'Honorary' parliamentary faction, during a speech at the National Assembly.

As a result of Azerbaijani aggression on November 16, 2021, 32 Armenian soldiers were captured, six of whom remain in captivity, and criminal cases have been initiated against some of the repatriated soldiers.

Abrahamyan asserted that among these soldiers are individuals who have served for many years in various units of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh, participated in combat operations, and sustained injuries. However, for an unknown reason, the authorities have preemptively labeled these individuals as guilty without any legal verdict and compromised their destinies.

One of the soldiers, Aren Aramyan, who was injured due to the Azerbaijani attack and is currently in custody, still lacks the opportunity to receive necessary medical treatment.

“For a long time, there has been no information regarding the fate of soldiers captured during the 44-day war and one month later in the villages of Hin Tagher and Khzraberd in Hadrut,” Abrahamyan noted. He mentioned that in this state of chaos, soldiers find themselves in a desperate situation. The authorities have already designated scapegoats by detaining soldiers and attempting to show that the entire responsibility for the situation lies with the units operating in that region, while the authorities continue to justify themselves and mislead the public.
