VIDEO: Sick Woman Thrown into the Street, Fatal in Unheated Building; Governor Responds and Moves Woman to Hospital
Shirak Governor Nazeli Baghdasaryan wrote: “Earlier today, following the distribution of a video on social media, we visited the apartment of a solitary woman living in Building 2A of the Boulevard neighborhood about an hour ago. Given the situation, she was quickly hospitalized at Gyumri Hospital and is now under medical supervision. Tomorrow morning, necessary examinations will be conducted, and if needed, Armina will undergo a full course of medical treatment. An agreement has already been reached with the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to jointly address the woman’s living situation in the near future. By combining the efforts of the state and public concern, we can save lives every day.”
It is worth mentioning that today a video was shared on Facebook by user Vahan Tumasyan, depicting a woman living alone in a dilapidated apartment without windows. She had no proper heating, wood, or food and was in poor health.
The user specifically wrote in the post: “An incurable sick woman has literally been thrown into the street, in 23-degree cold weather, to die in an unheated building... This is the face of the country. She is on the brink of frostbite... A sick, solitary woman is on the verge of frostbite on the second floor of the half-destroyed dormitory of the former radio plant in Gyumri. She cannot walk, her heater is out of order, and the firewood we provided has run out. Neighbors were pleading for help with tearful calls. All she needs is a normal heater, a few bags of firewood, and groceries. I hope there will be someone in the entire city who can go help her. We are currently in the villages and can only visit her tomorrow.”
