Video: ‘Aliyev speaks directly about what awaits us in the coming days,’ Tigran Abrahamyan

The Defense Army of Artsakh has overcome the post-war shock and is currently in a better position than the Armed Forces of Armenia by one or two steps. This was stated on Tuesday in Parliament by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the ‘I Have Honor’ faction.

“According to logic, a concept for the reform of the RA Armed Forces should have been created six months ago, but that concept has not yet reached the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee. This is despite the fact that Azerbaijan moved ahead of us six or seven months ago, has a new concept, and is following the path of modernization based on the Turkish model. They already have military units that have undergone necessary training in Turkey and are now serving after returning. Baku is using the acquisition of new weapons to exert pressure on Armenia and to gain new concessions from us. This policy is quite transparent, and Aliyev speaks openly about it,” said Abrahamyan.

According to the deputy, our problem is not only that Azerbaijan pressures Armenia to prevent us from modernizing our military, but also that Armenia is heeding these pressures.

“The situation in the Artsakh Defense Army is somewhat better; they have already overcome the post-war shock, and reinforcements are underway,” he added.
