US Will Not Send Additional Troops to Ukraine but Will Provide More Military Aid: Pentagon

The United States does not plan to send additional troops to Ukraine, where members of the National Guard continue to serve as military instructors and advisors.

This was announced by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby during a press briefing for journalists on Tuesday. “Currently, there are no plans to send additional rotational forces to Ukraine...,” Kirby stated.

At the same time, the US will continue to seek ways to support Ukraine's defense, which includes providing more military assistance, Kirby said. “We will continue to look for ways to help Ukraine defend itself, and that includes significantly more assistance in the security sector,” he added.

Regarding the situation at the Russian-Ukrainian border, Kirby indicated that the US does not see a desire for de-escalation from the Russian Federation.
