Charges Filed Against 6 Armed Soldiers Returned from Captivity, 3 of Whom are Officers

On November 16, none of the Armenian soldiers who were captured and subsequently returned to the homeland were recognized as victims; instead, six of them have been charged. This information was provided by the Investigative Committee in response to a written inquiry from the 'Pastinfo' agency.

According to the Investigative Committee, based on a comprehensive, complete, and objective study of the evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, the analysis of these evidences in their correlation, and their joint evaluation, out of the 32 servicemen who found themselves in captivity, six have been charged among the 26 who returned to the homeland. For these individuals, the measure of restraint applied is detention, and it has been reported that three of them are officers.

The Investigative Committee also informed us that necessary measures are being taken to return these six servicemen who found themselves in captivity on the aforementioned date to the Republic of Armenia.

It is noteworthy that on November 16, after the Azerbaijani aggression, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported 13 captured and 24 missing soldiers. Later, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the 24 soldiers considered missing had also been captured.
