Weather Conditions on Armenia's Roadways
There are closed and difficult-to-navigate roadways across the Republic of Armenia. The road from Amberd Fortress to Karli Lake in the Aragatsotn province is closed, as are the Musayelyan-Krasar and Amasia-Berdashen roadways due to heavy snowfall. The Vardenyats Pass, the Spitak-Gyumri roadway, and the Spitak loops in the Lori province are difficult to traverse for trucks with trailers. The inter-community roadways in the Amasia region of Shirak province are also difficult to navigate due to blizzard conditions.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there is black ice on the roads in the provinces of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Lori, and Shirak, as well as in the Talin and Ashtarak regions of Aragatsotn province, and on the Artik-Alagyaz roadway. According to information received by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars roadway is open to all types of vehicles.
The Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations advises drivers to travel exclusively with winter tires.
