I Demand to Ensure My Physical Safety: Rector of the Armenian-Russian University Appeals to NSS

«Taking into account the situation surrounding the Armenian-Russian University and my person, which I assess as fraught with possible encroachments on my physical existence, I officially demand the state to ensure my physical safety.» This statement was made by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Armen Darbinyan, in a recent post. Earlier, we reported that Armen Darbinyan had announced that some circles in Russia did not forgive his stance on national dignity and his open letter addressed to Margarita Simonian, and he is preparing to resign.

The advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, responded to Armen Darbinyan, noting that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia had received materials through the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation regarding the planned, comprehensive, and mixed inspections of certain areas of operation of the Armenian-Russian University conducted in 2021. The documents indicate alleged violations of budget and procurement legislation, ineffective use of budgetary funds, and circumstances related to the unsubstantiated payment of salaries (embezzlement or misappropriation), as well as alleged distortion of accounting records and reports during the years 2020-2021.
