Gas Prices May Increase in Armenia

The price of gas supplied to consumers in Armenia may rise by 6% starting April 1. This information was reported by the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia (PSRC).

According to the announcement, on January 13, Gazprom Armenia LLC submitted a request to the commission for a review of gas tariffs. The company proposed that a unified tariff be set for all consumers in Armenia at $282.6 per 1000 cubic meters instead of the current $266.71, or 135.6 drams per cubic meter compared to the current average rate of 128 drams per cubic meter.

“The increase in the average weighted tariff proposed by the company has been calculated at 6% compared to the existing rate, which is subject to adjustment depending on the actual calorific value of the natural gas,” notes the PSRC.
