Aliyev and Erdogan's Goal is to Strip Armenia of Political Independence: Turkish Expert
Today, the diplomatic dialogue between the de facto authorities of Armenia and Turkey has officially begun. Special representatives from both countries met in Moscow and discussed an agenda that is "without preconditions" for about 1.5 hours. This information comes from Turkish expert Varujan Geghamyan.
"There have already been opportunities to address the fact that both the agenda of such meetings and the composition of participants do not give us any grounds for optimism. It is not surprising that the Turkish side officially states the absence of preconditions. In reality, the preconditions put forth by Turkey to the de facto authorities of Armenia (see here: https://www.facebook.com/varujeans/posts/10224359601447905) have already been partially fulfilled, and the implementation of the remainder is underway (a few examples include the cessation of the recognition process of the Genocide, the implementation of pro-Turkish propaganda in public dominant discourse, the abandonment of political claims towards Artsakh, the absence of a response to Turkey’s and Azerbaijan's territorial claims against Armenia, the preparation of the 'Turkic corridor', and so on).
It is also worth noting that this Armenian-Turkish dialogue is not taking place on the basis of the principle of equality, but is essentially the result of a silent agreement by the defeated authorities with the pressure exerted by the Turkish side. This is also reflected in the fact that Turkey regularly mentions that it coordinates issues regarding relations with Armenia together with Azerbaijan.
Both I. Aliyev and R.T. Erdogan, who consider the territory of Armenia to be Turkic, do not have a peace agenda; their goal is to strip Armenia of its political independence. Thus, what is currently happening is merely a superficial aspect of this process, veiled with Eastern sweet talk, that is being presented to us," he stated.
