Gyumri-Bavra Road Covered in Snow as Winter Weather Hits the Entire Republic

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across the territory of Armenia. The ministry informs that the road from the Amberd fortress in the Aragatsotn region to the K'ari Lake is closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult for all types of vehicles; trucks with trailers are required to use chains. In the Shirak region, the inter-community and Gyumri-Bavra roads are difficult due to blizzard conditions.

Snow is falling throughout the republic. The Aparan-Aragats road in the Aragatsotn region has ice present. Fog is observed in the Talin region of Aragatsotn and in the city of Ashtarak.

Regarding Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
