Demand for Permanent Display of the Armenian Flag on Certain Institutions' Buildings to be Codified

The requirement to permanently raise the flag of the Republic of Armenia on the buildings of preschool, general education, higher education institutions, scientific, sports, and cultural organizations, as well as other legal entities established by the state and community, will be codified legally. The government recently approved proposals regarding a package of draft laws on amendments and supplements to the law on the 'Flag of the Republic of Armenia' and on making additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses, reports Armenpress.

‘State symbols hold immense significance in establishing statehood for any nation, bearing profound moral and psychological importance. Essentially, our attitude towards statehood is also determined by our attitude towards state symbols. The measures taken by the government aim to emphasize the importance of these values in public consciousness. It is proposed to codify the requirement for the flag to be permanently raised on the buildings of legal entities established by the state and community, such as preschool, general, and higher education institutions, as well as scientific and cultural organizations,’ stated Ara Khzmalyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, in an interview with Armenpress.
