Electronic Applications Required for Building Permits in Certain Communities in Armenia
Starting January 1, 2022, residents of the communities of Yeghvard, Ejmiatsin, Masis, and Vanadzor in the Republic of Armenia will only be able to apply for building permits electronically.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia has announced that this requirement will become mandatory in other communities across the country starting December 30, 2024.
A meeting-discussion was held at the Ministry, led by Minister Gnel Sanosyan, with the participation of the Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, governors, and heads of the mentioned four communities, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure the implementation of the law. The minister emphasized that the urban development sector is quite complex, with many issues, and transitioning to an electronic procedure for obtaining building permits will enhance the transparency of the process.
Minister Sanosyan highlighted the importance of collaborative work in bringing this new process to life. The Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, Armen Ghulyan, stated that this electronic platform aims to simplify processes within the urban development sector. Citizens and developers will now be able to see and track their entire application process from the day of submission to the final decision.
Advisor to the Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, Artavazd Tarkhanyan, noted that the goal of transitioning the building permit process to an electronic format is to reduce administrative burdens, cut down on the time spent, and ensure a higher level of interoperability between state management, local self-government, suppliers, and development organizations.
Building permits will be issued electronically through the e-permits system.
