Current Conditions on Armenian Roads: Snow and Blizzards in Some Areas

Currently, there are blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads across the territory of Armenia. The information is provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, which also shares further details.

The road from Amberd Fortress to Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province is closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers (using snow chains is necessary).

Fog is present in the Talin region of Aragatsotn Province. Snow is reported in the following areas: the Saravan-Gorhayk road segment, the city of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province, the city of Gyumri in Shirak Province, as well as in the regions of Ashotk, Amasia, Talin, Aparan, and Aragats in Aragatsotn Province. Additionally, snow is also observed in the cities of Charentsavan, Yeghvard, Abovyan, and Hrazdan in Kotayk Province.

According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepanstmina-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
