Broad Military Operations Expected as Azerbaijan Leads to It, Hovhannisyan

The military operation by Azerbaijan was anticipated. Moreover, it was also expected and foreseeable in the Gegharkunik region, as Azerbaijan has a significant concern that any potential military operations would start its series of failures precisely from that area. This was stated by military expert Karen Hovhannisyan during an interview on AD TV.

“Azerbaijan has a great fear that if military operations occur, its series of failures will begin right from this region, and it is currently trying and will continuously attempt to demonstrate that its Achilles' heel, namely the Karvachar area, is protected. They will do everything to present that they are making Karvachar invulnerable in this regard,” said Hovhannisyan.

The military expert notes that there are grounds for applying to the CSTO. The question remains how we or CSTO member countries attempt to neutralize that basis.

Karen Hovhannisyan also points out that provocations occur when a direct confrontation is instigated, such as sniper fire, or shooting at a vehicle carrying bread or an ambulance. In contrast, the Ministry of Defense has declared that Azerbaijan has used not only heavy caliber firearms but also artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles, which already constitute a military operation and are regarded as aggression.
