Aliyev: Never Trust the Kind Words of Armenia's Current Government

In order to establish peace in the South Caucasus region, Armenia must recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, stated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by Tert.am.

In an interview with Azerbaijani television, he said, "We do not want a third war (with Armenia), it is not part of our plans: We want the period of war to end, and we want normal relations to be established, so that Armenia finally recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. This is what we want. But if we see that, as I said, there is a threat to us, that threat will be eliminated on the spot."

According to him, revanchist tendencies are manifesting in Armenia, not only among former officials but also current state officials.

"Therefore, I repeat, we should never be fooled by the kind words of the current government (of Armenia). We must never forget what kind of neighbor we live with in the region. This is connected to the 'border provocations' (quotes added by Tert.am). They want to test us again," Aliyev stated.
