Gagik Melkonyan's Comments on the Document Signed by Vagharshak Harutyunyan

Today, during a meeting of the Defense and Security Issues Committee, committee member and "Armenia" faction MP Gegham Manukyan stated: "A few weeks ago, based on numerous inquiries, it became clear that, contrary to the authorities' claims for the past year, the Armenian Armed Forces have indeed withdrawn from Syunik. The 21-kilometer section of the Goris-Kapan road has been handed over to the enemy not due to some verbal agreements or compelling circumstances, but based on a treacherous memorandum.

After my statement, Gagik Melkonyan said that allegedly Gegham Manukyan had received this document from the Russians or the Azerbaijanis.” Addressing the Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan, Manukyan added: “Please tell Gagik Melkonyan that this document is indeed at the Ministry of Defense, signed well by Vagharshak Harutyunyan, and it has been kept secret from the people for a year, dismissing it as only verbal, while it turns out it is indeed well documented.”
