President Appoints New Deputy Chief of General Staff

The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has appointed Arakel Martikian as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The decree was published on the official website of the president.

“Based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, in accordance with part 1 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as part 1 of Article 35.1 and part 1 of Article 36, point 1 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen, Arakel Martikian is appointed as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia,” states the document.
