How Long Will the Difficult Period Due to Omicron Last? WHO Provides Details

COVID-19 special representative of WHO, David Nabaron, has stated that the next three months will be challenging due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant, but its end is near.

Nabaron noted that besides Omicron, other variants may also emerge as the virus continues to evolve. He also expressed concern that while healthcare services in Western Europe may overcome difficulties, medical facilities in other parts of the world are already overwhelmed.

No country has the capacity to impose serious restrictions, especially in poorer nations, but challenges will only persist for the next three months, Nabaron mentioned. Throughout the pandemic, there have been 307.9 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide and over 5.5 million deaths from the disease.
