Violence Erupts in Almaty Shopping Center

Videos circulating on Telegram show looters wreaking havoc in one of Almaty's shopping centers. Notably, all currency exchange points across Kazakhstan have temporarily suspended operations.

Additionally, an Orda.kz correspondent has toured the city, capturing images of the ensuing chaos, looting, and terror aftermath. Retailers, cafés, restaurants, jewelry stores, and various business establishments have suffered damage from the rampage. Sales outlets have been robbed.

Currently, military special equipment has been deployed on the city’s main streets.
