Kazakhstan's Mangistau region commander has warned protesters blocking roads.

"All police are armed and have direct orders from the head of state to shoot without warning and to kill. I appeal to all those blocking the roads: your actions are illegal and are affecting the economic and social well-being of the region. Fuel and food supplies are disrupted, prices will begin to rise, and the social well-being of the population will deteriorate. Do not allow this," said Commander Zhanarbek.
