Turkey Reduces COVID-19 Quarantine Period to 7 Days Instead of 14

Turkey has reduced the quarantine period for individuals infected with coronavirus to seven days. This announcement was made by Turkey's Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca, as reported by TASS.

“The quarantine period for those infected with the coronavirus will last seven days. If the PCR test shows a negative result on the fifth day, the quarantine will end immediately,” the Minister stated.

Previously, the quarantine period for COVID-19 patients lasted 14 days.

He also noted that despite the spread of the Omicron variant in the country, “the educational process in schools will continue, and schools will not close unless all institutions are shut down.” On Wednesday, Turkey's Ministry of Health reported 66,467 new cases of coronavirus infection.
