Almaty Airport Liberated
During a special operation, the airport has been liberated. This was reported by Yerzhan Babakumarov, a deputy from Almaty.
“An anti-terrorist special operation has been initiated in the city with the aim of establishing order. The airport has been liberated. It will operate in a regular mode,” said Babakumarov.
According to the information center of the Almaty emergency committee, radical supporters of unrest have caused immense damage to the city and resisted the law enforcement agencies' legal actions aimed at restoring order and ensuring security. “The extremists have harmed businesses. Furthermore, they are endangering the lives and health of civilians by obstructing the work of healthcare workers and damaging clinics and hospitals. The high level of organization among the bandits in Almaty indicates serious preparation abroad. Their attack on Kazakhstan is an act of aggression, an attempt to undermine the integrity of the state,” the statement said.
