Emergency Situations Ministry Reports on Difficult and Blocked Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there is a blocked road in the territory of Armenia. The road from Amberd Fortress to Lake Kari in the Aragatsotn region is currently closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is passable for freight vehicles with trailers only when winter tires are used. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from Aparan to Aragats, and in the Shirak region, the roads from Vardaghbyur to Bavra and from Artik to Alagyaz have areas of black ice.

Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.
