Display of Tobacco Products in Retail and Food Establishments Prohibited

The Market Surveillance Inspectorate has issued a statement: "Dear citizens and entrepreneurs, we inform you that as of January 1, 2022, the law on reducing and preventing harm to health caused by the use of tobacco products and their substitutes has come into force. According to this law, the display of tobacco products or their accessories or substitutes in retail and public food establishments is prohibited.

Failure to comply with the requirements of the law results in: 1. A fine of 200,000 to 250,000 drams. Repeating the same violation within six months after administrative penalties have been imposed results in 2. A fine amounting to double the previously applied administrative penalty."
