Nearly 340 Trucks Stranded on Georgian Military Road Due to Bad Weather

Nearly 340 trucks have been stranded on the Georgian Military Road, which has been closed to heavy vehicles since Sunday due to poor weather conditions, reports RIA Novosti citing the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is noted that since January 2, the movement of heavy vehicles has been prohibited in the vicinity of the Upper Lars area, leading from the city of Vladikavkaz in the Russian Federation, due to deteriorating weather conditions.

“340 heavy trucks are awaiting the restoration of traffic on the Georgian Military Road,” the statement said.

Additionally, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has established a heating point near the Upper Lars checkpoint in North Ossetia, where drivers can warm up, drink tea, and charge mobile devices.
