Askeran Resident Returned, Currently with Russian Peacekeepers: Details

The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh Gegham Stepanyan announced on his Facebook page that this morning a resident of the Aygestan community in the Askeran region of Artsakh, Armen Verdyan, born in 1971, found himself in an area controlled by the Azerbaijani armed forces due to getting lost and was subsequently taken prisoner.

As a result of negotiations conducted by the security agencies of Artsakh and the Russian peacekeepers, this civilian has now been returned and is currently with the Russian peacekeepers, and will soon be handed over to the Armenian side.
