Former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates has published an article outlining his vision for saving the planet. According to him, a new industrial revolution will help create a green economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

“We need new ways of growing food, making things, moving around, generating electricity, heating and cooling without emitting greenhouse gases,” Gates wrote.

He emphasized that the times when “governments and corporations could make encouraging promises” and fail to deliver are over. The billionaire admitted that this is a very ambitious goal. However, the Microsoft co-founder hopes that by 2022, authorities and companies in various countries will create new operational models that will accelerate the transition to a clean economy.

“I am eagerly looking forward to next year and believe that we are at the beginning of a revolution based on next-generation clean technologies,” the billionaire concluded.
