Defense Committee Meeting Lasted 1 Minute
The meeting of the National Assembly's permanent Defense and Security Committee lasted just 50 seconds. "The proposal for the Deputy Chairman of the committee is missing from the 'Civil Contract' faction; we consider the meeting concluded," announced the committee chairman Andranik Kocharyan.
It is noteworthy that the opposition was not present at the meeting, while three members of the ruling party attended: Andranik Kocharyan, Gurgen Melkonyan, and Armen Khachatryan.
It should be reminded that the position of the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's permanent Defense and Security Committee has not been successfully filled 14 times; the 'Armenia' faction has nominated Arthur Ghazinyan for this position, but members of the ruling faction have not elected him.
Andranik Kocharyan had given the 'Armenia' faction one week to propose a candidate for the Deputy Chairman position; otherwise, the Civil Contract party would present its own candidate.
