Pashinyan's Comments Accompanied by Clear Actions to Change Internal Political Landscape: Tigran Abrahamyan

The main feature of Nikol Pashinyan's press conference and Facebook comments is that they are accompanied by clear actions aimed at changing the internal political landscape in Artsakh. This was noted by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the "Honorary Rights" faction.

"Clearly, public attention is focused on Pashinyan presenting Azerbaijani propaganda narratives and framing issues in the Azerbaijani ‘sauce’, but Pashinyan's main goal is to remove the current president of Artsakh from office. Yes, at first glance, this sounds very strange, but let me clarify. The issue here is not about Arayik Harutyunyan personally, but rather that Pashinyan, realizing that conducting new presidential elections in Artsakh is almost impossible at this time, has begun a behind-the-scenes process to remove Harutyunyan from office.

The concern here is not about whether Arayik Harutyunyan is good or bad, but the fact that for Pashinyan, the most direct and final step in depriving Artsakh of its last element of subjectivity is to initiate the process for Harutyunyan’s removal and ensure a vacancy for the presidential position.

Currently, only a small part of the ongoing processes in Artsakh is visible to the broader public, and I hope that in the coming days, political forces from Artsakh will speak on this topic.

In the face of active resistance from the healthy forces in Artsakh, the first phase of Pashinyan’s political reconfigurations has failed; currently, we are in a period of political consultations aimed at ensuring political stability in Artsakh.

Pashinyan's actions in Artsakh also have external motives and can introduce revisions into regional reconfigurations; however, at this moment, it seems that this scenario is not coming into effect. Pashinyan’s internal motivation is to fully free himself from responsibility regarding the Artsakh issue, hoping to receive compromises from Turkey and Azerbaijan in other matters in return.

Note: Since 2018, Arayik Harutyunyan has made countless mistakes and failures, holding a significant share of blame in various processes. However, at this stage, the attention of political forces, active groups in society, and concerned individuals regarding Artsakh and Armenia should be concentrated on countering yet another wave of attacks against Artsakh, which is not based on Arayik Harutyunyan’s actions, but rather on the ultimate destruction of Artsakh's subjectivity," it is stated in the post.
