For Most Parents Who Lost Sons in the War, the Most Important Thing Is That Everything Is Not Yet Lost: Nazaryan
It is very important that during the press conference, President Robert Kocharyan noted that emigration from Armenia has reached unprecedented levels and that as a result of the actions of this administration, we have seen new captives and territorial losses in 2021.
This was stated on Facebook by Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction. He emphasized the significance of highlighting that Armenia has transformed from a democratic island into a repressive state, where the number one official moves exclusively under the presence of a large police force.
It is good that he reiterated what we could have gained from the ratification of the Key West agreement—with Artsakh, Berdzor, and Armenia.
It is crucial that he demonstrated the disgraceful state of the economy and that the current administration has not set a goal to restore the army. Finally, he clearly stated what is meant by delimitation and demarcation.
It’s beneficial that he explained to the public why Turkey decided to negotiate with Armenia at this moment.
I find it exceedingly important that the president noted that the names of the war victims have not yet been published. How pointed was the president’s subsequent question: were the Madrid principles better or were the phased ones and the current situation, was the Kazan proposal better or were the phased ones and the current situation?
One should ponder deeply on this question and the reminder of a hard landing before voicing any side or thought.
Nevertheless, for me, for the majority of parents who lost sons in the Artsakh war, for the people of Artsakh, and for the healthy segment of Armenians, the most important thing is that the president emphasized that everything is not yet lost, Artsakh is not lost, and that even after tough negotiations and efforts, it is possible to regain at least part of what was lost. He mentioned that with a sensible, country-loving government, we can still straighten our spine. This was the most crucial point.
