Black Ice Warning from the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult transport routes in the territory of Armenia.

The road from Amberd Fortress to Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province is closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers due to black ice (it is necessary to use snow chains).

In Shirak Province, there is black ice on the Gyumri-Bavra road, and in Syunik Province, on the roads from Verin Khotanan to Agvan to Tatev, in the section known as 'Meghri Sarr,' and on the Sisian-Zanger road, black ice is observed in places.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
