Successful Entry into the Community Hall: Protests in Parakar Conclude

After significant efforts, Volodya Grigoryan finally managed to enter the community hall. He called on the protesters to end their demonstration and go home. “Everything is normal, there are no issues, we all are going home,” he stated, emphasizing that they will carry out their work in the Parakar community hall, while any legal matters will be addressed by the court.

It is worth noting that tensions have persisted in Parakar for several days. This situation arose after the inaugural meeting of the council on December 20, when David Minasyan, the candidate for mayor from the 'David Minasyan' alliance, and Volodya Grigoryan, a candidate from the 'Living Country' party, announced on their Facebook pages that they were elected as community leaders.

The 'Living Country' party secured 10 mandates in the 21-member council, and Grigoryan was elected community leader with 10 votes. Although this number is less than 50 percent, the 'Living Country' party insists that if only one candidate is nominated, they can be elected with 40+ percent of the votes. Following this, David Minasyan, who is the candidate from the 'David Minasyan' alliance, was elected mayor with the support of 11 council votes, including votes from members of the ruling party.
