Prepare Less Salad: Ministry of Health's Recommendations Ahead of the Holidays

The Ministry of Health has issued a statement titled 'Advice for Holiday Shopping,' which we present below.

'Holiday shopping has already begun. What products to buy, where to buy them, and how to avoid food poisoning? The Ministry of Health offers several recommendations on these matters:

  • Make purchases at stores rather than informal sales points like street vendors or adjacent market areas, and buy fresh, non-perishable products.
  • Prepare salads, meat dishes, and appetizers at home, in small quantities, while observing hygiene rules.
  • Pay attention to the storage conditions, expiration dates, and appearance of products when shopping.
  • Use factory-produced food items that have undergone specific safety processing, such as pasteurized milk, etc.
  • Avoid buying and consuming unknown origin or unverified mushrooms. Purchase mushrooms only from markets and stores with documents issued by the relevant authorities.
  • If buying ready-made meals, check the preparation and sales dates, storage conditions, and temperature.'

This is stated in the report.
